Adär Christopher Ford

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our precious son, Adär Christopher Ford, affectionately known as Däry. In the evening hours of January 31, 2026, at only 26 weeks and 2 days, Adär made his way into this world amidst an emergency C-section, gracing us with his presence for a fleeting hour that was filled with love. He was born in Washington, DC, a beautiful spark of light and an answered prayer for his devoted parents, Ajah and Addison.

From the moment he was conceived, Adär filled his mother’s world with joy, as she now reminisces about him kicking away in her tummy and the times they shared, delightfully listening to lullabies at night. While his father will always remember laying his face softly on Ajah’s stomach, and whispering secrets to Adär telling her that his words are only between them—beautiful moments between a father and his son. Active and feisty, Adär embodied the essence of a sonshine—an irreplaceable ray of hope and love in our lives. He was not just a child; he was a symbol of resilience, joy, and the dreams we held close to our hearts.

In our brief time together, Adär touched the lives of many who will carry his memory with them always. He was cherished by his loving family, including his grandmothers, Imani and Lisa, his grandfathers, Lonnie and Adam, his aunts Aleah and Elishia, his uncles Devonte’, J’Lin’, and Jerald, and many others who were excitedly awaiting his arrival. Though his presence among us was short-lived, his impact will resonate through the bonds of family and love he created.

Adär joins his beloved uncle, Lonnie Lewis Bailey Jr., his great-grandfather, Joseph Chase, his great-great-grandmother, Glen Holmes, his great-grandmother’s, Julia Dunnington and Anna Shaw, his great-aunt, Jeanette Smith, his cousin, Isaiah Hazel, and many other cherished angels in heaven. Together, they watch over us as we navigate this loss and celebrate a life that, although brief, was filled with immense love and grace.

We will forever hold onto the memories of our sweet Adär, who taught us the true meaning of love in such a short time. While our hearts ache with his absence, we find solace in knowing that our baby boy is forever safe within the embrace of loved ones who have gone before him.

Forever ours, and never forgotten, Adär Christopher Ford will remain a shining light, guiding us with his spirit through the days ahead. 🩵
