Aaron N. “Butch” Honeycutt, 80, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed peacefully at home on May 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Born September 13, 1945, in Elkridge, Butch graduated from Laurel Senior High School and spent his working life providing for his family. He served as a supervisor at East Coast Ice Cream for 25 years and retired from Thomas’ English Muffins in 2013.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and John Honeycutt, and his sisters, Margaret Padgett and Glenda Usery.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Sharon Honeycutt; his children Michael Honeycutt (Gloria), Susan Martz, Aaron Honeycutt (Belinda), Dana Hicks (John), Bruce Honeycutt (Peggy), Catherine Knott, Linda Hunt, CJ Hunt, and Sherrie Hunt; his brother Cecil Honeycutt (Barbara); his sister Charlotte Long; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished him. He also remained close friends with his former wives, Dana Honeycutt and Sylvia Mickley.

A simple man in the best sense, Butch loved the gym, felt most at home in blue jeans and T-shirts, and lived with the honesty and warmth of his favorite song—simple and genuine. A lifelong Baltimore Ravens fan, he stood proudly by his beliefs. Known for his open door, kind heart, and boundless generosity, he treated every child as his own and welcomed everyone as family.

Butch had a tender spot for animals, especially rescued and neglected pets, whom he adored. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and faithful friend.

His warmth, laughter, and steady love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
